Worcester & Worcestershire information for Worpex visitors

If you are planning to visit Worpex, then you will find the "Faithful City" of Worcester and its county welcoming and with plenty of interesting things to do and see.

While you're here you could visit Worcester Cathedral, The Commandery, and nearby Royal Worcester Porcelain, stroll down historic Friar Street and New Street with their half-timbered buildings or wander along the river Severn. Elgar's birthplace is in the nearby village of Broadheath, and he is buried at Little Malvern Priory.

There are attractive country walks in many villages, where local pubs will offer you home-cooked fare, often using local produce.

If you're feeling in a sporty mood, there are several golf courses in the area, and cricket, racing and rugby at Worcester.

Further afield there are the towns of Malvern, Pershore and Droitwich with nearby Hanbury Hall. Bromsgrove offers the Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings. Among the attractions of the Wyre Forest are the Severn Valley Steam Railway at Bewdley, the County Museum at Hartlebury and Harvington Hall.
